Hi....

I'm thinking about working at the Mall of America apple store, which is about 30mins from my house. Just trying to figure out if it's worth it or not. If there is already a thread about this, I'd appreciate it if you could direct me to it.

1) What is the entry level pay?
2) How many hours are expected for part-time?
3) What kind of discounts do you get?

I'm going to be buying a new MBP soon, so the discount would be nice. Plus, I'm sure Apple is a fun place to work. I currently work at Radoshack.

Thanks!

I don't think you'll get any responses from current employees. They aren't allowed to post on these forums. I work at an Apple premium reseller and I work mainly on commission:)

I previously worked in a UK branch so wouldn't know exactly how the pay would translate but..

part time staff would work 16hrs per week, some would work 24hrs per work, full time staff at 38hrs per week.

The discount here was 27% once a year for a CPU for yourself ordered through the employee discount site.

17% for friends and family. It was limited though for how many

12% for yourself at any time when used at any Apple store

Retail is retail... it's better then RadioShack, but nothing great. Still have to deal with angry customers, but no real pressure on sales. The products sell themselves for the most part. There's obviously no spiffs/ commission of any kind, so there is not a huge incentive for sales. It's a good job for retail, but otherwise nothing that special. I don't work and haven't worked there, but I have gone to a couple interviews and talked with people who have worked there. There are a few stories floating around online about what it's like to work there, just google it.
