Title pretty much says it all. 10.4.10 has been out for a while... I'm wondering when Apple will start shipping it standard on their new machines. What do you all think?

i set up an imac the other day for somebody and those seem to still be shipping with 10.4.8

Don't think so. They will have to burn new CD's for all the MBP's and that'll take a lot of time and money to reproduce.

I think when you buy a new Mac during the welcome screen it checks for updates.

Well, I got my macbook on Friday and I believe it had an earlier version, I downloaded and installed 10.4.10 - would it have told me it was already installed if I started the installation? If so, then I know for sure it did not come with it.

It shows a ship date of 25 Jun from Apple on the outside box to the store I bought it from.

I bought my MBP 15" 2.4 this past Thur night. The brown box has a date of last May 07 so 10.4.9 will come as no surprise.

I was online less than 30 seconds before software update was prompting me to install 10.4.10 though.

My SR MBP came with 10.4.11. Not sure how that happened exactly.

Uhmmm, 10.4.11?? Was this a misprint? If not can you post a screen shot of the 'About this Mac' window?

There has been absolutely no rumors of another update build for Tiger being worked on or even the slightest hint that one was scheduled. I have to wonder if the 10.4.11 being referred to may be special build related to a test of other hardware (say the iPhone) where the idea may have been to test for interconnectedness.

i got my macbook pro on the 25th of june, and it came with 10.4.9. to the op, what does it matter whether new macs are shipping with 10.4.10?

I just opened mine yesterday (June 30), and while I didn't check the OS, there were a ton of software updates (including .10) to do so it was either .8 or .9.

My Macbook, which shipd on June 25th (got here on the 26th :) ) came with 10.4.9
