Hi, i currently have a black 80gb iPod Classic and running an Intel MacBook Pro with the latest OS X.

When on a plane or train i find even at full volume i can bearly hear it - really frustrating. i've tried different headphones but still the same problem. I live in the UK and remember there being something about EU law that prevents portable music players to exceed certain limits.

Is there some kind of download/patch i can install to get rid of this lock?

Thanks in advance.

Hey :)

I got some in ear headphones, they help block out noise and really make a difference. Also if its the same as the 5th Gen iPod, there is a preference in the iPods settings where there is a volume limiter (slider) which you can change. But the sound cancelling headphones are a good option because simply boosting the volume even in a noisy environment isn't good for your ears...

I got there ones and they are pretty good...
