anyway to have Xbox 360 access mac mini?

i recently purchased a mac mini that i will be using as a media server (always on, storing my media files on it) i have an 360 and ps3.

my ideal plan would be to have the 360 in living room and ps3 in bedroom 2 and ATV in bedroom 1.

i know ATV can access all files from mini, my question is this: can the ps3 and 360 access these files? i know both have options to find media servers, but are they mac compatible?

Connect 360 is a Mac application that I use and it works really well.

+1 for Connect360. I've been using it since it came out (maybe 4 years now?) and I've never had a single issue with it.

Nullriver, the company that makes Connect360, also offers a solution for the PS3 called MediaLink. I've downloaded the demo but I've never really had to use it.

If you're looking for a solution to both devices I believe there is a company that makes one application that works for both systems. I don't remember the name of it off the top of my head but I'm sure someone around here will know.

cool, thanks guys for the advice. i am not sure which device to move to the living room, i use the ps3 alot more for gaming and like using it in bedroom 2 more so then living room, but at the same time, when friends are over i am not gonna go into bedroom to play games/watch blu ray...any advice?

do not get connect 360, it doesn't support folder structure and it will only work for your 360

get Rivet it supports folder structure and works for 360 and ps3

Its also cheaper and if you do the survey while downloading it you can get a extra 1.50 off

I've had great success with Connect 360 but I will check out Rivet too. Interesting.

I like Playback from Yazsoft. Like Rivet, it also supports folder structure (which Connect360 does not.) If I recall, and it's been a while so I could be wrong, I think Rivet still throws all your videos from iTunes into one monster folder. I like Playback because it shows the folder structure exactly like my iTunes Music folder, and I can also add other folders with videos for access.

Playback, for me, beat Connect360 and Rivet for the features and set-up I wanted. (I actually got lucky; the day I sat down to decide between Connect360 and Rivet, trying to decide between two undesirable options, I saw Playback on MacUpdate for $10. I'd never heard of it before nor come across it in my searches, but anyone looking to stream to a 360 should definitely check it out.)
