Apple Music Anyway to sync playing history across devices (iOS and macOS)

I often will listen to an album on my iPhone in the morning, then switch to my mac for the work day. I want to start from where I left off, but there doesn't seem to be any mechanism that syncs history across devices.

Am I crazy, or is this just not something Apple has implemented?

Hmm that’s already enabled but it doesn’t do anything to help this specific scenario
