Anyway to use Photos with a hard drive attached to my time capsule?

When I try this, I get the following error. I did format the hard drive as Mac OS Journaled.

Is there a way to get this to work?

How does the drive show up in Finder? It sounds like that the App is only designed to interact with storage that is directly connected to the Mac. Why not plug the hard drive into the Mac instead of TC

It's a MacBook Air and I mainly use it on the couch or on my bed, so that wouldn't be very convenient.

The drive does appear in finder though.

Perhaps it doesn’t work yet. It’s a developer preview, remember? The popup does after all suggest that it should work.

I believe it won't work because your Mac is not accessing the drive, it is accessing a network share. You could create a sparse bundle on the share with the appropriate file system and mount that but, with anything but a small library, it would be cumbersome and likely get corrupted
