My roommate just bought an Apple Computer with Mac OS X 10.3.1. I have never used MAc before, so I have some question here.

1) I installed AOL on this computer. The buddy list wont launch itself like it does on a PC whenevr I signed on. How do I get it to launch itself? I did go to the people option and click on the buddy list on AOL, but it did not launch.
How do I fix this?

2) When I typed a web address in AOL, a new window will pop up but only showed an asterix sign on it. How do I fix this?

Any helps would be appreciated.
Thank you.

First of all, run software update and get that puppy to 10.3.3

Never used AOL before, how does Safari and iChat fair?

Help for Mac users of AOL

Whenever you have a problem on AOL, just call (888) 265-8007. This is the direct line to Mac Technical help at AOL. Over five years, I've NEVER waited for help longer than 90 seconds, which still stuns me, considering the waits we generally endure with companies. Also, they've always been able to walk me through a fix the first time.

AOL is rightly criticized on a number of counts (including pokey upload speed by me) but they rate a 10 on tech support. I keep AOL handy still because of world traveling and the ease AOL offers of always having a local dial-in number most anywhere on the planet.

By the way, my AOL buddy list always 'auto-opens' upon sign-on, so that is the normal setting. Must be some 'click' you need to do somewhere in there.

Good luck.
