For the last couple of months, I've been waiting for Apple to update their desktops. At first I wasn't really impressed by the look of the new iMacs, but when I saw the 24" in real life today, I *really* liked it (even the glossy screen). But, as most people, I am really disappointed by the graphics cards. However, most of the focus (both in reviews and in forum discussions) is on how bad the card performs in games, but I won't use the machine for that (just for reference: I still have to finish Halo 2 on my xbox, that should tell you how much of a hard-core gamer I am :)). I'm mostly interested in how this card performs in the new types of applications that offload part of the work to the gpu (like Aperture and so, not 3D rendering). In the previous gen iMacs, there was a lot of difference between the 128Mb and 256Mb cards, but how does the 2600 Pro compare? Does anyone have hands-on experience with Aperture, ... on the new iMacs?
