APFS on Fusion Drive and external HDD

I just noticed that my iMac that has a fusion drive did not convert the file system to APFS
Any way to convert the drive without formatting?

Same question for external HDD any way to convert them without formatting?

It's normal for it to not convert; automatic conversion only occurs for SSDs. I think that Fusion drives are not currently supported with APFS.

I believe that you can convert your external drive through Disk Utility if you want to.

In addition, support for Fusion drive APFS conversion has been pegged for a future update, per Federighi.
