Ive contacted them but is anyone getting this?? Card is on its own port (not a hub) and have tried all ports. every half hour or so the thing just crashes and disconnects...sometimes I can unplug and plug to fix.....sometimes must restart the computer. Sucks cuz my job is editing music....
 
All firmware and drivers up to date? It's been running flawless on my 2010 27" iMac. Could be something else. Reset PRAM? Maybe some other peripherals in your chain causing conflicts?
 
Ya everything is up to date and nothing else can be causing conflicts....there isn't anything else.....maybe I do need to reset the PRAM....does that effect anything??

It's worth a try. It won't hurt anything. After resetting, you may need to reconfigure settings for speaker volume, screen resolution, startup disk selection, and time zone information.

You might do well to go over to gearslutz.com and browse around there for solutions to the Apogee problem.

It's one of the best sites on the net for music-production folks...
 
Ya resetting the PRAM didn't work....Have contacted Apogee but of course no reply yet. =)
 
What Mac are you using? to be honest I haven't had fully stable CoreAudio for playback or recording since ML 10.8

Some say the USB2/3 ports on some iMac cause an issue

Some say the energy-saving low power modes and app-nap introduced since Mavericks change the buffer size the audio device is expecting from the CoreAudio driver and it causes clipping or skipping and bit-crushing

Some say our legacy hardware just won't work

Some say if you have a Fusion drive you are more likely to suffer CoreAudio hiccups

...Apple remains quiet (except for the admission they no longer plan on development of the Firewire CoreAudio component)

I have a Macbook Pro (with SSD).....i have experienced the distortion/bitcrushing thing but not for awhile..........this new one (totally disconnecting itself) has just started recently with El Capitan.

I don't have a lot of answers but I feel the next 10.11.1 might have to address some of these audio related issues as you and I are not the only one experiencing poor audio performance.

The only solutions I can offer is to experiment running the device at 44.1k 48K 96K sample rates or to switch the usb cable to a new one OR try using a USB 2 cable if you currently use a USB 3 cable and vice-versa
 
Ya I HOPE there is a fix coming soon....how can you tell the difference between a USB 2 and 3 cable? =)
