”Mail pasted from Safari...”

Curious about the new feature in iOS, whence a little pop-up appears to tell you which app you copied from and which app you pasted into (the app you are currently in, just in case you didn’t know it). Cute though it may be, how is this helpful? Why do I need to know where I copied from - I can see what I’ve just pasted, and will know if it’s what I intended. Presumably I also know where I just copied from, and ultimately if I copied something errantly, the pop feature doesn’t correct that. Tell me what I may be missing. Is there some way this feature can actually do something for you?

The from part is more informational and perhaps not as important as the notification itself that the app has pasted something that has been copied, given that various apps have been caught accessing the clipboard without the users doing anything or even knowing about it.

Apple is now letting you know what apps are using the clipboard etc. to read and use information. Between Apple apps, it isn't a problem. What you need to look for and check on, is when third party apps are reading from and using information from the clipboard etc. that mayn't be a part fo the app's function.

Edited to add: I highly suggest getting Little Snitch.

Ok, I see. Is there anyway to turn off this feature? I've never really experienced clandestine clipboard issues, and ultimately the "informative" pop up is distracting for the .0001% it may help identify some sneaky thing going on.

It doesn't seem that there are controls around that notification so far.

I hear you.
Been doing the c/p for a long time now and don't see any use for the "notification".
Just make the screen busier. Something we don't need.

It kind of sticks around too long on my phone. I guess since it’s not logged elsewhere i could miss it if not paying full attention to screen.

I like the feature as far knowing when apps are accessing clipboard on their own, but it would be better if they would stop that access without explicit actions by user or at least stop notification when the user initiates paste by selecting paste from pop up or using gesture. I know what i have done. I just want to know when it’s accessed against my knowledge or even better stop allowing that to happen in first place.

This seems like a quick fix, but until better process implemented if notification can be turned off completely apps will start accessing it again on their own without our knowledge.

I appreciate the information, but the notification could be just as useful and way less annoying if it were about 1/5 the size.

In dealing with Crypto, I find this notification a godsend to insure I have indeed copied the correct address code.
