You can kind of do a work around. While I haven't used any of them myself I know there are a handful of services that offer texting through email. So instead of receiving them normally you can send/receive them through that. That way you can stretch/enlarge as you need. It's a bit cumbersome though, it would be ideal just to have an app that did that. Good luck!
If you have a new 3gS you can turn on zoom in accessibility preferences. It works great.
