1) Honestly i cant find a reason why Reminders app exist on Iphone when you have a Calendar app where you can also add events and also view them as a list... so give me a practical reason why to use Reminders over Calendar.... they also included Reminders in the upcoming Mountain Lion release.

2)Also whats the difference in free and busy in calendar availability?

(1) i use reminders for quick tasks, like "Get Dog Food" or "Call Mom". (she lives out of state) reminders can also be set with a geofence, so you can be reminded when you leave or enter a location. can't do that in calendar.

(2) "Busy" or "Free" in calendar let's other people know if you are busy or free when they want to set up an appointment with you. this is more beneficial in an enterprise environment.

iCal is for things that have a time. (Dentist appointment) Reminders are for things that can be done anytime. (Wash car)

I use 'Reminders' the most when I'm planning for a trip. The 2 weeks prior to the trip I keep adding stuff...get cash from ATM for cabs...arrange with mom to feed the cats...find suntan lotion and sunglasses in basement.

Then, whenever I have free time I just check the list. None of these are things I need to wait for a specific date to do.

So...what would you do? You'd just put 'visit ATM' on Wednesday in iCal, but then you have an extra 20 minutes on Tuesday. Do you just do nothing with that spare time on Tuesday? Or do you scroll through the next 3 weeks and the last 3 weeks of iCal, looking to see if there's something you could be doing? (Or something you didn't get around to doing?) I'd think having one place to look at a list is better than randomly searching iCal for things that were put on arbitrary dates.
