I have new APPs bought on cyber monday from a retailer for around 200€.
I am happy with them but I noticed last days, that mostly my right right earpod drains battery much faster than the left one. I found some threads about that here and in reddit and it seems to occur quite often and mostly its a software issue.

My question is, is the case also object of this “battery reading software issue”?

I charged my case yesterday with airpods inside for around 80min before going to sleep. All showed 100% and I listened only with my left earpod for 45min a Podcast with a Sleeper set to the same time. In the night I woke up still with the airpod inside (of course without something running). I managed somehow to put it back in case and today morning my battery case shows 87% battery.

So even assuming my earpod was drained to 0% (which is very unlikely since I listened actively only for 45min) one earpod charging up taking 13% seems a lot?

What is your experience? Anything abnormal here to worry about!?

Same issue here.

I have used my APP only 4 days and I have never tried to use them until the battery was so low that the shut off... so I cannot really say if the software indication of battery level is accurate..

I didnt buy at Apple, but at Cyberport (German electronic retailer, like Saturn, mediamarkt) so I dont have any doubts that mine are not real or not good quality (the package says actually 08/2020) so battery is not older than 3 months...

Is Apple claiming that the case can charge the APP around 5-6 times fully (24 hours) ? If yes, it seems my case is taking every earpod as a full charge even when it is not even half drained. Yesterday night I did the same and now the case is 74%. Again, only the left side I used

Nobody seems to read this, but I definitely worry my case is working abnormally. How often can you charge your earpods? I never use my earpods for an extended period of time. Mostly I use them 2-3 times a day for 30-90min. But my case drains everytime between 10-20% battery. Often also when used only one earpod.
Is there a way to reset the battery status for the case?

Might it have something to do with the “optimised charging” setting. I think it’s defaulted to on (activated) after the phone/iPad updates to latest iOS. Just a thought

I did today a test run.
I charged my earpods and case (which was totally drained from yesterday) 2hours, so that both was 100%. Then I reseted and "forget device" my Airpods from my iPhone 11. Then I reconnected them. Strangely, after taking the earpods out, my case showed only 97%.
I listened to music almost 4,5 hours before they were under 15%. My case still showed 97% before putting them back in the case. Then I set a timer and after the first 15min the earpods showed 76% and the case 87%. After another 15min charging, the earpods were already 88% and the case at 84%. Another 15min later earpods showed 98% and the case 82%.
I stopped checking them because I was quite happy with the result. 40min after last checking I checked again and the earpods were 100% while the case was 81%. This is a good result because it means the almost fully drained earpods took around 16-19% from the case to charge them fully again. This means I could 5+ times do so, which is total good and more than enough for me.

The issue:
What is a bit worrying for me, is the fact, that now 1,5 hours later the case is still draining, even though the earpods were 100% already 2 hours ago. From 81% to 77%! So something is draining the case still.
Maybe it was still not fully charged 2hours ago when battery status showed 100%, but its weird. I can live with 1-2% every 4-5 hours, but it's still weird that the case drains even though earpods show 100% ?! I will track the next 24 hours, to show longer results..

I havent really monitored in detail about the charge on my airpods and case, will keep an eye out and get back. For my use it looks like I can go a week with one full charge.

After my post 4 hours ago I turned off bluetooth on my iPhone and now the case is exactly the same percentage as 4 hours ago. Maybe thats the trick. Could be that my earpods dont go off or in sleep mode when in case?!
This would be a defect or not?
I will check until tomorrow and then test it again with bluetooth on

Does your case shut correctly? If disconnecting bluetooth solved it, I think its constantly searching (?).

I will before check again. It might be that the software is not very accurate and that sometimes its still charging even when showing 100% and opposite.

So I will keep posting for myself here and ppl with similar problems:
1.)
The bluetooth on my iPhone was all night off, and the case showed in the morning the exact same battery % as after testing --> 77%. So it didnt lose not even 1% after around 9 hours without usage and bluetooth off.

2.)
I turned my bluetooth in the morning on, but didn't change something with the Airpods. After 2,5 hours, the case was still 77%! So no change, even though Bluetooth was turned on again.

3.)
I used my Airpods to listen to Music for 15min. After that earpods showed 96% and the case still 77%!. I put them back to charge and checked every 15min the battery (bluetooth OFF!):
After first 15min: Earpods 100% and the case 76% (so it lost 1% to charge them back fully)
After 30min: case still 76%
After another 2 hours: case 73%!!

So I will check in the evening again, my guess is that 73% will show the next hours, which means, that the indication for battery life % in the case is showing the actual battery % a bit delayed... so even when the earpods show 100%, the case might still drain a bit (2-4%). I guess that's nothing to worry about.

My new (one week) AirPods Pro’s case loses 1-2%/ hour, daily 20-30%. I didnt use AirPods, case with AirPods just lays on the table. Latest firmware.

I bought AirPods Pro to use 1-2 hours/ day and really thought that it’s possible without charging case more than once a week. I find it impossible.

Try to reset them. Also turn off Bluetooth and tes
Already tried reset. Twice, both unpair and keeping back button. Didn’t help. Now checking how case’s battery performs when AirPods are outside the case..

I really reckon it’s a software issue from apple.
