App categories gone?

Not sure if I'm missing something here, but the App store on iTunes 9 has no where to drill down by category?

Next to the App Store button there's a little arrow if you hover your mouse over it. Click on that and all the categories will be there in a 'pop-down' menu.

Yeah, but all the sub-categories are gone. Click on games... instead of being able to choose from sub-categories like puzzle and strategy, you get 661 pages of games to sift through. WTF?

I noticed on my iPhone when I went to the App Store, the catergories all say "App Store" with the Skype app in the picture to the left.

no no, on the iPhone, not in iTunes.
I noticed this before upgrading to
iTunes 9 & 3.1
Also noticed this is just with my Canadian
account. The US account is fine.

no, no no ...you guys are not reading.... that is in regard to finding
the drop down categories in iTunes 9.

What Macnator and myself are talking about is on the iPhone _itself_ when
you press the "App Store" icon. Both he and i are noticing the following once
in the iPhone's App Store:
- press Categories - all i see, for all the rows, is the "Skype" icon and beside
it says "App Store", if press this, then it looks like same as pressing the
"Featured" button
- the bottom button, "Featured","Top 25", "Search", "Updates", all work
normally as supposed too
- i saw this with iTunes 8 and firmware 3.0 ....upgrading both didn't change
anything
- this is showing on my Canada account only, if i sign in under my US
account, the Categories button works as it should

Since i see Macnator is also in Canada, maybe this is with Canadian "App Store" only (?)

I just tried it, and I have 20 skype icons with "app Store" descriptions in Categories. Pressing any of the 20 all goes to the same place... So in other words categories is currently dead...

I thought the same thing! I was like WTF! It's there though, if you go the app store drop down menu to games it's on the right hand side under the top free games list.

I am also from Canada.

I checked after you guys posted and i don't see that in the US store. Did someone send a support thing to iTunes that is in Canada?

Hope they fix it for you guys soon - how annoying!
