Well, once again MS have updated Excel, and once again the damn thing has stalled on my phone. Over 4 days of trying. I have tried resetting the phone etc. I have even deleted Excel, with the hope of reinstalling. No dice. It just gets stuck with about half of the app downloaded. Leave it to Microsoft to create the only app that I have to ever have frozen during an update.

Anybody got any ideas how I can get rid & reinstall Excel, or update it?

Join the club. Neither iTunes or Mac App store will work over Wifi. Cellular is not a problem. Been 4 days not and I can't get ANY app to download over Wifi. I've contacted support 4 days in a row and they are saying nothing is wrong.

Interesting, but in my case it is specifically one app - other apps are OK. I do think this is the kind of thing that I should be able to sort out with Apple Support, but instead I get directed to user forums. It's true that often advic ein those forums is correct, but often it is not and can cause damage.

Same thing is happening to me, with The Weather Channel app. Most of the time, it will download fine, but freezes while installing. The only way I could get it to install, was to switch to switch to LTE. BTW running IOS 9.1 on 6s+.

Thanks for the reply. Today - finally- Excel fully downloaded. I have no idea what changed. However, this is the second time I have struggled to update Excel, so i wonder if there is something about the app that is causing it to stall. I thought initially it might be memory, but Word, which is larger, updates fine, as does PowerPoint. Weird. And frustrating....
