Suggestions?

My iPad 2 with iOS9 is acting as if it has practically no free RAM at all. Apps has to be open several times before they stop crashing, and multitasking is not possible at all, such as playing music in the background while opening another app. All this was previously working fine, so something appear to be wrong.

I'd like to see the amount of RAM registered by the system, and RAM usage by the OS and apps.

Vidgets.

System Status.

Both are good to monitor memory usage. Vidgets has widgets. You can use Notification Center to keep an eye on free RAM amount.

I am sorry that I'm able to answer your question which is: is there app for checking RAM on the iPad? I don't know. But what I can say from personal experience is that, echoing what you said, the iPad 2 on iOS 9 is borderline unusable. I think the problem is the hardware/software combo.

From iOS 7 onward, iPad 2 performance has gotten poorer and poorer. Sucks, I really liked that iPad.
