I also would love to see a PS3 remote app for iphone, but the PS3 uses bluetooth for its remote system... and i don't think devs can utilise bluetooth in their app in such a way.... can they????

Either that or Sony will probably keep apple or anyone developing for apple out of the loop in terms of compatibility etc... unless they wise up and make one for themselves!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7D11 Safari/528.16)

In order for an iPhone to communicate with a BD device usng the SDK, the device needs to go through the "made for iPod" program. Unless Sony MFI Certifies the PS3 you're not getting a non-jailbroken remote.

This is the important part of the description of that app
Sony will also offer an additional Wi-Fi Blu-ray remote control application
Their remote app isn't using BT to contact the devices. It's similar to how TiVo remotes work. They could easily update the PS3 firmware to do it this way instead of BT.

Oh man you got my hopes up there for a second! Any chance of this app getting ps3 support or a new one getting made that has it? My fingers will stay crossed!

Any way for a jailbroken phone then?
