So this could be a dumb question, but if I buy an app on sale (Peggle, Classics, etc.) and it comes with a goofy "On Sale" or something slapped on the icon, will it ever go away? Or am I stuck with promotional icons? I would rather have icons without a for sale badge, but I would also rather pay the lower price. :D

Always that way unless a subsequent update changes it. But if you have a jailbroken iPhone, you could always change it I suppose.

Some apps use different icons from the one that is shown in the App Store. So, some of them don't show the sale icon on the app. But some people don't do this. So... it depends?

The icon that shows in the App Store is the icon file that the developer submits to Apple. The icon that shows on the device is the icon.png file that was built into the application file when the developer creates the executable.

You will not see an On Sale badge on the icon if you buy it. The On Sale icon is for the App Store only. They use the real icon for the actual app.
This was stated before.

So I got Peggle this morning because it went on sale for 99 cents. The icon in the App Store says SALE across the bottom. But not on the phone.Just the normal phone icon. I have a bunch of apps in my iTunes with various messages across the icons there, and none of those messages show on my phone.
