When I click on Apple and about this Mac. Then Storage. Then Manage. The Applications on the left. Why does it say Universal or Intel? Why do none say Apple? Shouldn't the apps that came my new M1 mini (256 ssd - 8gb ram) be native and not universal?

In a van down by the river
Universal in that context simply means the respective app is compatible with Intel and Silicon

Native would obviously mean Silicon support but wouldn't necessarily mean the app supports Intel as well.

Big Sur is a universal OS, and the apps are compiled as Universal.
