judging from previous upgrades many apps require you to have the latest software version installed to work, i have been thinking about what happens once the Iphone OS4 is released, a lot of non Ipad specific applications will take advantage on new features and ones that worked before then wont.

this would then reduce the amount of available application the Ipad can run blowing away Apples *you can run every Iphone App on the Ipad* idea.

Some of these apps will be out of reach until the fall when 4 is released for the Ipad.

Never thought about that. I hope the apps I want won't have that problem but if they do, not much I can do except wait.

I think the updated apps will still work, just not incorporate the 4.0 features when you are using it on the ipad.

Also, as of now I'm basically only downloading ipad specific apps for my ipad, and they will not be affected by iphone 4.0 apps.

The iphone apps look terrible on the ipad anyway. First thing I did after my ipad synced was delete all the iphone apps because I couldn't stand to look at them LOL
