Ive had airpod pros for over a year with very few problems. however i did have to return them due to rattling noises fairly recently

and now, sound wise they are great but im having so many problems with connections and i dont know if its a software issue or a hardware issue.

problems:

i use my airpods a lot to listen to audiobooks or podcasts when out walking. previously it worked 100% of the time. walk out the flat, shove one airpod in, open podcasts app, press play.

now, 90% of the time i do that and the podcast comes out of the phone speakers. the symptoms are not always the same. sometiems i go into bluetooth and it says not connected and it connect. sometimes i have to restart the phone. sometimes putting the left airpod in fixes it (i normally go with the right one).

also, when my phone rings, again before i never had any problems, it went straight to my airpod if it was in. even if i answered the phone and then put in an airpod it would switch. now sometimes i am listening to a podcast through my airpod, the phone rings, i answer it using the button on my airpod, and i hear them coming out the phone speaker.

I am having the same issue and came here to see if anybody else is. Exact same issues you described. Started getting bad about a week ago. Phone says they are connected and NC activates but sound coming out of the phone speakers. Only way to fix it is unpair and reconnect. It works for a bit and then starts doing it again. Very annoying.
