App Settings kept after iOS 4 -> 5 upgrade?

iTunes says something about iOS 5 upgrade backing up and restoring apps, contacts, text messages, etc.

Question: are App Settings kept? For example, if I have a GTA savegame, will it still be there after the upgrade?

My settings were all saved. Just be sure to back it up before upgrading.
