I have a curious problem with some of my apps, such as Chopper and 300 Bowl. The sound suddenly disappears. I've tried reinstalling the apps, moving them around, and rebooting the phone, but nothing restors the sound.

Any suggestions?

heres a suggestion: dont cross post the same thing in several different areas of the forum.

Why not? If it increases the chances that someone may see it in one area who would not see it in another, what is the harm in doing this?

Are you a member of the forum police, or are you just bored?

No, because if everyone did that we might just as well have one single forum with boatloads of duplicate threads. It's bloody common sense.

Well, I don't understand the common sense involved in your analogy. It would be silly to have a forum with only one area and "boatloads of duplicate threads," but if two areas address similar problems, it seems to me that it might be be advantageous to post in both.

However, for me the more important problem is that I haven't gotten any responses to my question in either area.

Of course it would be silly. That's my point: If everybody duplicated their threads we would in practice have just one big forum, since all the the threads would be duplicated in every forum.

See above. Or choose more carefully. But choose.

I can think of a couple of reasons for this: Either noone knows. Or, more importantly, they can't be bothered because of post #3.

Anyway, I would put it down to a bug - either in the OS or the apps themselves. I take it you tried restoring the phone itself? It's not as if there are many options when it comes to fault finding on the iPhone.

Oh yes, I tried restoring the iphone. I didn't know it would wipe out my more than 50 third-party apps and all my downloaded ring tones. This is why I asked what specifically a restore wouls do. Now. for another unknown reason. my iphone won't synch with itunes. Fortunately.there's an Apple store nearby and I have an appointment with one of these "geniuses" on Friday. It's a good thing that I'm retired and can devote my life to my iphone!
