App Specific Data Option?

I am often abroad and got thinking that it would be amazing if you could enable data roaming in an "app specific" way.

I think it would be amazing to use something like "What's App" for messaging, but keep the rest of the data off.

As far as I'm aware an IM app uses absolutely minimal data so wouldn't this be ideal?

Or just leave mail on etc..

Is this is a possibility?

Thoughts?
