For those who've received refunds for apps: does the app update when an update for that app becomes available? Or does Apple somehow 'remove' the app from your account?
Once you get a refund, it's as if you never purchased it and you cannot download updates until you purchase it again.
Thanks to all for the answers and inspiring exhortations. So I decided to delete the app and re-purchase it (to give it another shot after an update had been issued). When I went to do so, it said that I had already purchased the app and asked whether I wanted to download it again for free. Is this normal behavior after a refund?
Not sure. Did you end up getting charged for it, or did it download for free as the updated version?
you are all wrong. my little brother bought some games for his iTouch using 1-click buy not knowing that I would have to pay $$$ for the games. when i found that out i contacted support and they refunded me $$$ and i deleted all the games. after about 2 months i wanted to buy one of these games and when i clicked buy it said that i already purchased it so my download is free. after that i tried with other games (that my brother accidentally purchased and i got refund) and i can download all of them, newest version.
Anyone know how refund works if your iTunes account only has gift card credit (rather than a credit card)? Do I get refunded back the gift card credit?
I've only done one return to the store, and it came back as an iTunes store credit. I don't think it matters whether your account is using a credit card, or a gift card, your going to get a "store credit" I believe.
I bought Navigon and then thought to myself I would be better spending my money elsewhere and got a refund. I never really thought of the consequences. Though I still have the app on my iphone it just doesn't show any updates available and I am on the original version that I received when purchasing.
Just to rekindle an old thread. Last night randomly I got an update for Navigon which hadn't been updated from 1.0.0 because of the refund I'd imagine. Last night however the app showed as an update in the app store and I updated successfully.![]()
