Ok so far my ML experience has been positive. Only thing is that I can't seem to figure out how to put the app store in my notification center. When I go to system preferences / Notification, it's not even listed. Any advice?

It's in there by default and can't be removed (by virtue of it not actually being in the list). I dunno exactly what notifications it sends, but at the very least it sends you system update notifications.

Ahh ok, so I shouldn't see it in the list?

Yes, it won't be in the list. The notifications for the App Store are simply to notify you that 'Updates are available for your computer'. There is no specifity on the updates in the notification (at the moment).
