Something strange is going on with my itunes and I'm wondering if someone can help me figure out what the issue is. For some reason, it keeps on wanting to download certain apps, namely MobileNavigator North America (Navigon 1.3) which I already have ... including the traffic update. I can clearly see the file on my hard drive with all of my other apps (itunes/mobile applications). It looks like it's just in some sort of loop and wants to download it again. I have gone in and deleted the semi-downloaded app in the "downloads" folder, but every few days it keeps trying to download it. Any ideas as to how I can get this to stop??

I'm getting this too. I've downloaded the Rock Band update several times on both the phone and iTunes and it's not catching that I did. Actually I'm not getting the notice that an update is available in iTunes anymore, but I am on the phone.

I'm also getting it for Aqua Globs. I downloaded the update on the phone and it's still telling me an update is available. I downloaded updates I received notices for in iTunes for Aqua Globs and FOX Sports and the page didn't refresh after the downloads were complete like it normally does, and when I rechecked the notices came back up as if I'd never downloaded them.

Very annoying.

Started happening to me as well when I upgraded to the most recent itunes version.

I'm getting this on the phone too with National Rail Enquiries and with Meter Readings. Father in law has the same problem.

Just started having this issue again. This was an issue earlier in the year or late last year. I think it is an Apple thing on the server end and not on our phones. It is annoying but really seems harmless.

I blame George W. Bush. And global warming.:D

It's happening to me, too. I tried to reboot the iPhone and that seemed to make it go away.

I ignore the duplicate downloads and eventually they go away. Pretty annoying and it's getting old fast. Hopefully Apple will get this resolved. That said, I have had this issue over the last year, so I am not holding my breath. Perhaps Apple should change their advertising from 100.000+ apps to 1,000,000 since many of them have to be downloaded over and over before the update registers.

I've had this problem with about 1/2 of the apps I've update in the last 2 weeks. Just started then. I agree that it's probably a server issue and not an iTunes bug.

I emailed Apple and alerted them to the issue and also gave them the link to this thread. This was the reply from Apple iTunes support.....

"I understand that you, and others have been experiencing some difficulties with apps you have purchased, randomly re-downloading. No problem, I will be more than happy to help and I appreciate your patience amidst this issue.

To begin, I have removed the app from your download queue, it should no longer prompt you to download it. Furthermore, I have submitted your observation and the thread link for investigation. I sincerely thank you for pointing out a potential error."

I have the same issue

If there is actually a possibility of Apple checking this thread, then I should mention that I have the same issue that has been described here. I only started to see this within the last 30 days or so and it has continued since. Often, if an app has an update, the update still shows even after I have downloaded and installed the app.

same issue, but only with pocket god. other apps that required updates updated just fine and removed themselves.

Samer here. Pocket God keeps showing up as an update on my phone. Nothing else at this point, but it's still getting annoying, LOL.
