I have a jailbroken iPhone 5 for the past 2 days I've not been able to download or update apps in App Store, it just stopped working one day to the next. Any ideas as to how I can fix it? I put the phone into safe mode to see if maybe something in mobile substrate was causing it but the same problem ocurrs.

Try logging out with the phone if it is the mobile app or logging out with the computer if it is the desktop app (you didn't specify), reboot either phone or desktop, then log back in.

Sorry for not being more specific. It is the mobile app that isn't working, I haven't tried with iTunes. On the mobile app if an app needs updating and I press update, nothing happens. I signed out and in again. I did a hard reboot. Tried signing in on my wife's account but nothing allows me to update apps or download new apps.
Have you tried disabling your tweaks to see if it works, and then slowly going from there?
I figured by putting the phone into safe mode it deactivated the tweaks. And it still didn't work. I'm stumped. Haven't even installed new apps or tweaks in weeks.
I've been having some weird App Store problems on iOS 6.1.2 with my iPad Mini also. Mainly with the updating of apps, I'm thinking it's pertaining to iOS 6.
Are you talking about where there's an app update badge but when you open the AppStore, it isn't there?
This was happening to me too on my 4s on 6.1.2. Since I've upgraded to the 5s on iOS 7 I have not experienced this.

I think it's because some updates are iOS 7 only so then it doesn't show up when you open the updates tab.
First time they've done that; must have to do with adding the feature to be able to download the latest compatible version for your firmware
I had this problem. I have to delete all my apps and then reinstall them one at a time, then checking for the update one at a time. I was able to find the app that needed the update. Was a pain in the rear.
