whenever i go onto the app store and say i click super monkey ball or another top paid app, it says that the popularity is 0 downloads. why is this? is this n everyone else's too? btw i have an ipod touch.

Apple initially had the number shown but pulled it. I think the reasoning was that people could calculate the revenues developers were getting using the number. The result is a 0 for all apps.

then why dont they just pull the entire line of text as well? to avoid confusion.

Why did it take them so long to figure that out?

Though, the number of downloads isn't exactly number of sales. That is if you are allowed to download an app again without paying for it twice.
