Ever since I started paying for apps, I began this practice of rating and reviewing them. My reviews have all been one-paragraph 3 to 5 star ones, highlighting features I liked or features that do not work as advertised — never anything that would go against any ToS or anything like that.

My last review was written about a week ago.

Today I went on the App Store > portrait on top right > name > ratings and reviews, and got a text saying 'you do not have any ratings or reviews'! Went to the app I last rated/reviewed, and my review is missing on there as well. What's up with this?

If they are ALL gone, I would suspect that there is an issue with your account. I would contact App Store support and try to find out what is going on.

As a developer, let me just weigh-in:
If a user leaves an offensive review without any sort of rhyme or reason, as developers, we are entitled to request App Store support to review it and remove it, if they agree.

I’m not a developer, but I really hate when people leave bad reviews because they have a problem and they haven’t tried contacting the developer first. If it’s any consolation to developers, I try to always report these. (Don’t know how much it helps, but it can’t hurt.)

I get the negative reviews and why they could be removed. The problem in my case though is that almost all my reviews are 5-star positive ones (I don't usually purchase apps I haven't already done extensive research on so my experiences are overwhelmingly positive), with the one critical 3 star review being (word for word), "this app is good at what it's supposed to do, with my only gripe being the removal of the mobile auction house".

ShrimpScampi I hope you didn’t think I was directing my comment at you. I agree with the others that Apple might have messed with your account somehow.

I actually want to commend you for posting reviews. Too many people don’t even bother let alone take the time to be fair and honest.

I don’t see any place to get a text like you say. There is a drop down box with choices on how the reviews will be displayed . I can’t ever find most of my reviews, even when I check within a short period of time.

You can find that on portrait on top right > name > ratings and reviews. It's interesting, even after sorting by most recent, the most 'recent' review is more than 2 years old which I doubt is true seeing as how this is a pretty popular app. I've seen the same with plenty of other 'mainstream' apps too.

In this day- “reviews” on any platform are pretty much worthless. They’re too easy to game.
