I'm not sure if this is specific to my M1 Macbook Air, but for some reason why I try to update apps from the App Store, around 50% of them don't update for the first time with this error. Now if I try it again and again eventually after 3-5 tries is does work.
Has anyone else encountered this and is there any way to fix it?

This happens to me from time to time on my Intel-based 2016 iMac and MBP. Logging out of the store account and then back in again has resolved it for me.

It was happening repeatedly yesterday. It is just normal Apple services flakiness. Nothing to do with the M1. It happens on my 2013 Xeon Mac Pro too.
