App Store keeps giving me an "Unable to Download App" Xcode could not be installed. Please try again later" error.

It's been doing this for days.

iMovie and GarageBand all installed fine. I've got 720 GB free.

Do I need to clear a cache or do something on the command line? I feel like this has happened before, but not on Catalina.

Same here. Yesterday, it just wouldn't download after it started. The circle icon just got stuck, pausing and re-starting didn't work.

Not sure what's going on there.

There's something funny with the size of the download as well. It fails during install.

Update:

Delete the old Xcode
You will get an error in Bin: Xcode still in use, try again, then it works
Download again
You might get two Xcode icons, both pointing to the same program

I had to reboot to get rid of one

What a mess

I also noticed that suddenly I had Chess, Textedit and others outside the "Other" directory in Launcher. Not sure why.
