Another similar thread was started regarding some strange behavior with new apps not showing up in the App Store when sorting by release date. It seems it's working now, but in the past I thought updated apps were shown at the beginning of the list when sorting by release date.

Anyone remember if when your app was updated did it show up at the top of the list in your category when sorting by release date? Or does Apple only sort by the original release date?

There are some threads about this in the App Store forum. Basically Apple is no longer updating your release date when you update your app. So only new apps can appear at the front of the list when sorted by release date.

That sucks, but totally understand why they did that. I'm sure people were re-submitting their app constantly to stay at the top.
