I am still using Catalina version 10.15.7 on an Imac late 2012. It finally hit me that I havent had a new OS in a while and problems are starting to show. When I try to open the App Store app to download new OS I get the S.P.O.D and it never goes away. How can I get around this? I also need to upgrade Logic pro X but there is no option so I assume the reason why is cause my computer isnt updating ever though it says its up to date. Any help is appreciated!

Your 2012 iMac is up to date. The latest system that is officially supported is Catalina, which is what you have now.
You CAN go to a newer system using OpenCore, if you like. OpenCore patches your system, and allows you to install newer macOS, even to the current Sonoma version.

Thats good to hear and I will look into that, thank you! However, what about the App Store app not opening?
