Is it possible for an externally created app that can directly access the automation feature (in shortcuts) and instantly set up an automation setting that will run the app? So the user doesn't have to set the automation up, they only have to give the app permission to access shortcuts and the app does all the work behind the scenes?
The goal is to automate the app to launch with as little effort from the user as possible.
- Download 'MyApp' >
- Prompt "Allow - 'MyApp' to set up Automation feature that will "Open and run 'MyApp' when 'x' happens" >
- User grants authorization >
- (Automation is set up in the background, user never has to leave 'MyApp' and never has to manually set it up Automation) >
- Automation is set and will activate the next time the condition happens. (example: the condition could be time of day)
And, of course, have a settings feature in 'MyApp' that allows the user to change/shut off the condition that will directly update the previous condition set within Shortcuts.
Or is it possible (easier) to set up an app that internally runs its own automation process and has the ability to self-start itself? This would mean launching itself and taking over the user's screen when pre-established conditions are met.
Note: I'm not a developer and realize this is likely completely impossible... but let me know regardless or if there might be a workaround to get an app to automatically launch when a condition is reached that doesn't force the user to manually struggle to set up an automation.
