Is there any app out there that lets you control OSX (everything, or at least the vast majority of it) from the keyboard? Or, a decent list of shortcuts? Menu selection? Dock access etc etc...

In the System Preferences, under Keybaord & Mouse, have you got Full Keyboard Access enabled for All Controls, not just Text Boxes And Lists Only under the Keyboard Shortcuts pane? It'll give you a little bit more freedom. :)

Keyboard control carries a certain amount of geekiness too it...and I kinda like it. However voice command would great. I often have my iBook when I'm in the bath...having voice command, searching, changing tracks, dictating would be class! I used IBM ViaVoice for OS9 and it was a little shaky. I remember leaving it on once, I came back and the door had been open (it was quite breezey outside) and there was text on the screen along the lines of "The large quiz rent". Weird stuff. Kind of like EVP...but er, not.

You know what, there will be an xBox 360 version of HL2 and it'll be the day Mac's finally move over to Intel. Arg.

I don't know what you're talking about... you think that you can't do this already? You can control your computer using your voice in the speech preferences. It is a built in feature of Mac OS X.

Hmm, I didn't think you could do speech to text with it? That's the main thing really.

 That's just a recipe for disaster. I look forward to 'My iBook went swimming' thread sometime soon. ;)

Haha, it sits on a chair next to the bath and I lean over to play music, read stuff, radio etc. Anyway, enough about my bathtime habits.

In addition to MJ's keyboard tip, try a launcher of some sort. The best out there IMO is Quicksilver which lets you launch applications (and open documents and much, much more) using only your keyboard...

I downloaded Quicksilver a while back was daunted by the interface, but on closer inspection it seems like a great little app. A bit heavy on the eye candy, but hey, Aqua can do some impressive stuff!
So yeah - I've downloaded it again and will give it a shot...
