App to give you a local phone number?

Hi Everyone,

My wife needs a local phone number so work people can call her. We could get a local phone line and have it forward to her iPhone, but that is cumbersome.

Is there an app that will assign you a local phone number that people can call and the call will be forwarded to your iPhone? I understand Google Voice may do this but there are no current openings available.

Skype allows you to do this. I have a local number and it forwards to my iphone.

You can have it forward all of your Google Voice calls to your cell phone. And to make a call from your Google Voice number, you can go to the Google Voice website in Safari.
