Is there some way to keep track of data being sent from my phone to see if anything like a key logger or app is sending data somewhere without my permission?

Thanks.

What about a key logger or spyware that gets installed via the jailbreak or by using jailbroken apps?

Thanks.

If there is a key logger in an official jailbreak release you would know. The whole jailbreak community would be up in arms with torches and pitchforks.

As to a key logger installed via a jailbroken app…well then you are dealing with shady Cydia sources that you would have to add yourself.

Jailbreaking is a community service. Cydia is a business serving a small community. Word gets around.

supposedly batterydoctor pro was sending data to china in the background. it was such an awesome tweak i kept it anyway

Why does it seem like everybody here responds with excuses for why they're not going to answer a question? I don't get it. OP asked if there's a way to track outgoing data with the example of data being sent from a keylogger, not if it's possible there is a keylogger installed. Of course it's possible.

Absolutely it's possible for a keylogger to be installed.

Go install Cydia sources known for piracy and then go install tweaks you know nothing about from those sources that do illegal or unethical things and you're bound to get a keylogger guaranteed. Or just hand your phone over to shady people you don't trust.

Stay away from all of that and while it's still possible it could happen it's highly improbable.
