iPhone App to lighten videos on older iPhone models before or during video recording?

I have an iPhone 6S. In low light if i go to select to take a photo then the lighting could be acceptable for the shot. I could switch to video mode where the phone itself may not move at all and the lighting remains the exact same, yet the image is now quite dark in comparison.

I am looking to see if there is a decent app that will lighten the shot. Not necessarily as bright as the photo setting but certainly lighter than the default video setting because what's being recorded isn't the clearest.

I would prefer a free app but if a paid for app is miles and miles ahead of the rest then i would consider it.

Physics is not in your side. The reason photos will look brighter is that the phone can combine information from multiple frames. Can’t do that in video mode.
So if you “lighten” things you will still have an awful shot with no contrast.

Out of interest how do the newer iPhones compare in this area?

In actual fact i am considering the new Samsung Galaxy when it drops in a few months time. I know that's probably like hanging myself around these parts but i've had an iPhone since 2010 and i feel like a change. Nothing is certain though and i may stick with my 6S or i may get a newer iPhone who knows. I just wondered how the newer ones compared specifically in this area? Thank you.

The new iPhones have better low light sensing so they are an improvement. In the end it all depends on pixel sizes. You need either bigger sensors or fewer megapixels.
