What i want to do is record a lecture with my built-in mic as i write notes about the lecture is this possible? what app can i use to do this?

If you bought Office, you could use Word in notebook mode, and use its sound recording, however, being rosetta, this will eat up a fair ammount of memory and processor power. You could also look into journler, which has an ability to record sound IIRC.

LOL omg i can t believe i did not see it,, i feel so stupid its done by just clicking the HUGE MIC icon in the toolbar wow can t believe i missed that....

In Office, it should just have a little recording bar on the top if you're doing a notebook. Just open up Word, and when it asks you what you want to start off with, choose "Word Notebook".
