Hi,

Is there any app that you can click on menu bar to remount external drives that were unmounted but still connected/on?

I used to use Mountain by appgineers but last update was 10 years ago.

It's still on app store but leary of old app that is mounting/unmounting valuable data storage devices.

Thanks

I use Jettison, although I run it on Monterey and Mojave. There is a small one-time fee, but it's worthwhile. There is also the cheaper Ejectify, but the extra cost is minute.

I also previously used apparently no longer supported Mountain, and also replaced it with Jettison.
Jettison works well and the small cost seems fair.

Does Mountain not work? Otherwise, why avoid software with 10 years of apparent stability/reliability?

As a counter argument, I would be more leery of a new app that receives frequent updates, because supposedly it is buggy enough to warrant update after update. There's a greater chance of some corner case not getting handled properly and doing something wonky with your valuable data storage devices.

Nice. I will check Jettison. I emailed the dev of Mountain and he is busy but said he wants to do a major overhaul of Mountain. So far it still works. Maybe the basic code of ejecting/remounting haven't really changed since I got it 10 years ago. it is still on the app store. I have been using it for the last 24 hrs and seems to work fine on OS 13.1. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the tip on Jettison. Just purchased and it looks like just what I needed.
