This has happened to me a number of times. I am notified of App Updates. So in iTunes I download the updates. I then try to Sync with my iPhone. I then get a message indicating that they could not update due to unknown error. I then remove the applications from my phone and re-sync. This then works. However, for most I lose my data and have to start over. Does anyone else have this problem and is there a solution? Also, I do have most of my applications on menu page 2 but the page 1 applications also have the same problem.

Have you tried just pressing re-sync when it gives you the error?

Sure. I tried several times and then decided just to delete the applications on the phone. Since at this time I don't have much data it has not been that big of a problem. I had to do the same when upgrading from 2.0 to 2.01 (applications just stopped working). But in the future I expect to have more data loaded for the applications so I was hoping for a solution before that happens.

I have the same problem. It's a pain!!! And I can't even update from the phone unless I delete the app and just download the updated version (but then need to add all the personal info depending on app).

I would love a solution. I have 5 pages of apps (games) and I don't want to go through 25 updates (currently and counting) by deleting and re downloading each app.

As far I can tell this has not been fixed yet. Looking online I have seen several threads describing this bug.

Apple: This needs to be fixed!

Even after 2.1 is installed, the same problems are occurring when updating any application. It's very frustrating. I don't mind slow typing as much as not being able to update my apps. SO lets bring out a fix for this as soon as possible. Thanks.
