Anyone else having their Transparency mode behave like Adaptive where noise cancellation turns on automatically with certain noises?

This didn’t used to happen but within the last couple months, maybe with the release of iOS17, it’s been doing this. Transparency used to be just that, let outside noise in no matter the volume. But now with certain noises like a vacuum, a fan, or even clapping, it’s “transparent” then within a few seconds the noise becomes muffled. This is the same behavior as when I change to Adaptive mode, but didn’t happen before with Transparency.

I have tried unparing, switching noise modes, set all the audio toggles off…

I have the Airpods Pro 2 and iPhone 14 Pro on non-beta firmwares.

I guess I found my own fix. I found some articles on how you can customize transparency mode within Headphone Accomodations. ”Custom Transparency Mode” was already off but after turning it on and then back off, now the sound stays “transparent”. Probably another bug with iOS 17.

I’m having exactly the same issue but with Noise Cancelling mode.. keeps turning the volume up and down despite clearly not being in adaptive mode.

Sometimes when I go into the setting it shows adaptive mode (I’ve never switched it myself as I don’t like it) so I think there is definitely some bug here.

if you use the stem on the AirPods to change the noise cancelling mode, go into the settings, I think it defaults to include adaptive mode. (I've also had it add it back after I removed it, possibly with a software update on phone or AirPods)
There are different tones when the different modes are enabled.

Ah yes! This is it! thank you! I thought I was switching between Noise Cancelling and Transparency but I was actually switching between NC and Adaptive...

Set both stems to alternative between Transparency and Noise Cancelling now :)
