hi guys

someone please put my fears to rest !!!!
sorry - basicly i took in my( out of warranty )14" ibook to a apple service provider to get the harddrive upgraded to an 80gb ! anyway this was done in belfast whilst i was visiting some family. So now since the upgrade my ibook sometimes sees a boot disk somestimes it doesnt !!! also i get kernal panics and errors saying im low on start-up disk space and to close all applications ( i have over 50gb left ???) and now my ibook boots to a black darwin screen with lots of errors ahhhh

i tried reinstalling os _ no avail
zap pram _ no avail
reset pmu _no avail
hardware test cd says everything is ok ???

when i go to pick my os start-up disk in sys pref the ibook restarts but doesnt see my boot volume every time 10/10 maybe sometimes after 5 mins of ???? marks it does (this was when it was getting to a destkop now it doesnt !!!) The only way to get it to boot was to force power off and power-up

now it wont even boot to a useable screen ,sorry guys hang in there !!

my question : as this upgrade was done 2 weeks ago by a apple service provider in belfast and i am now in london can i take this machine along with the receipt for the upgrade to the apple store (london) and have it repaired free of charge under the 3 month upgrade warranty as its definately the hadrdrive thats at fault !!

ahhh

help plz god help

Was it an Apple Corp. Apple Store (with the genius bar and everything) that did the work, or an independent Apple authorized service provider.

If 1) - then yes, another Apple Store should fix it
If 2) - then almost certainly the machine will have to go back to Dublin. (unless you can get them to agree to have someone else look at it and bill it back to the independent provider who did the work. Good luck on that.)

Did you pay with a charge card that offers purchase protection or extended warranty? Call your bank for options.
