Hey guys, I have recently updated my iPhone 7 from 11.1 to 11.2 and been noticing really bad battery drain. This is the worse battery drain so far. I have to charge my phone 2 times a day now compared to previous versions. Safari is a big contributor to the battery drain now as it never happend before. It will drain 90% battery over 2.5 hours. Also whenever I charge my phone to 100% it will never reach a 100% the maximum it will go is 99% and will just stay there. Now there is something really wrong here. I have contacted Apple but they do never reply back or care, if anyone know where I can talk or report my issue for it to be heard please let me know.

-Is anyone else experiencing the same thing as me? Please list what problems you are having and if there is a fix or anything we can do to fix?

Yes the 7 Plus battery has been crippled by iOS 11. My 7 Plus needs to be charged twice a day as compared to once every 1.5 days on iOS 10.

Doesn't seem typical. You might want to see if there's anything obvious that migh be showing up as using the battery. Might be worthwhile to try something like resetting all settings, or even reinstalling.

I have checked and restarted my fone. Still cannot find any reason to why Safari is using way too much battery this never happend with iOS 11.1, also still cannot get my fone to charge fully to 100% it will only go up to 99% - Wondering if anyone else have notice these bugs? I know for me that it is software issue as it never used to happen before the update.

11 killed my 5S'es battery life and has made battery use unpredictable. In the last few weeks, my habit of battery level awareness has gone from "charge it all the way up in the morning and see how low it is at the end of the work day" to "charge it up and worry when it will suddenly drops below 50 percent at an unpredictable time before 11 AM. I've had the "suddenly drops to red" happen a couple times for no apparent reason.

I've gone into settings and made sure that almost no apps are accessing cell data and have turned off Touch ID as I may have accidentally increased brightness of the screen when trying to access the phone.

This was started occurring prior to the 11.2 update.

Try calibrating your battery. Let it run all the way down to dead, then plug it in and let it charge all the way up to 100% and leave it plugged in for another hour before unplugging. I’ve come across a ton of people in which iOS 11 seems to have messed with their battery calibration.

My X battery has gone to crap also on 11.2.

Before, it lasted all day and then some.
A 100% charge before I sleep remains at 100% when I wake up.
Now, when I wake up at 6:30am it’s 93%...

And using safari and catching on news drains it a percent or two every few minutes.

Currently speaking, it’s barely 8:27am and I’m already at 65%. All I’ve used this morning was hail an Uber, closed it during the ride, and safari.

not that bad (at all) here, but compared to YouTube Safari is using a lot of battery. I'm using Safari just to read stuff.
Twitter also seems to do well compared to Safari...

The back of my iPhone x gets hot while watching videos and drains battery really quick. I went back to 11.1.2 and the back doesn't get hot and battery is better

Hot phone means a lot of usage. Do you have a lot of tabs open in Safari and maybe one is playing video after video as some web sites do. If you have a lot of tabs open can you close some or most? Just and idea.

When I’m using Safari I do not play any sort of videos or anything. I just simple browse websites and forums. I usually leave 3 tabs always open. It never used to drain 90% in 2.5 hours after the update something is horribly gone wrong here.

That is very good for Safari. What is your phone? What do you normally browse with Safari and how many tabs do you have open at one time? Something is up with my iOS 11.2 on my iPhone 7. I don’t know what is wrong and if there is a solution this is really bothering!

6S, reading newspaper/this forum, ..., no video’s or so. I typically have the same 6 tabs open
