Hi all,

I a bit of a jam here, my Apple account has unfortunately been locked out, I’ve tried to follow the iForgot instructions but I no longer have access to the mobile number that was used during the Account setup. Previously I’ve always received on-screen codes when doing anything Apple but for this instance I’m required to have that old number which I have no means to access.

Has anyone encounter this and know a solution? I followed the help sections on the Apple website but it’s seems to result with me going around in circles with no solution or eventually points towards creating a new Apple ID which.... yeah.... not really the solution I was looking for....

If anyone has any ideas I’m all ears!

Have you tried : Contact Apple for help with Apple ID account security ?

I know you said you'd tried various things but you didn't specify exactly what you've tried...

Probably help if you listed what you've attempted so far, that way folk won't waste their time or yours suggesting stuff you'd already tried.

Hi,

I’ve tried the iForgot section (where the iPad takes me after trying to access the account). The help pages don’t seem to cover my specific problem and I’ve googled it with no result.

At present it means I don’t even have email access as it’s all linked to my Apple ID :(

It sounds like you had two step authentication enabled. I disabled that and only enter my email address. It appears your real solution is to contact Apple so you can get the mobile number removed.

I used to lost my iCloud password and in the same time, lost associated email to my account. At that time, I contacted Apple and they called me. It worked and I can I can access my account again.

If you have iOS 11 and 2 step authentication you can change your password on a device.
Settings
Tap your name
Change password
Passcode

The accounts locked, so I can’t change anything on the device as it pops up to sign into the account and then informs me that it’s been locked.

I think I’ve been through all sections on the Apple support pages and the iForgot area, nothing seems to cover this issue (I can’t be the only person in the history of the iCloud system to have this happen).

Is this something an appointment at the Genius Bar could resolve?

Apple has blocked my account because I can't remember the trusted number. I called the helpline, the guy told me I had to recall the number in some way because I don't have the alternative ways of access set up on my account. I cannot remember the number at all, don't have it listed anywhere, and hadn't passed the number to anyone. Basically, no way to get it. I told them I could provide the bank details I had used on the account (and answer lots of other security questions), which in my opinion is much more secure than a phone number. Is this Apple's way to get people to open a new account and spend the money all over again buying apps, music, TV shows, movies. I have lost close to $1000 worth of content because of their refusal to give my account back.

I remember the username and password for the account. And I don't even recall ever setting up the two-factor access.
