Hi everyone!

I’d like to buy a noise-cancelling headphones.
I’ll mostly be using them with my iPhone and iPad, but there will be times when I connect them to my LG TV via Bluetooth.
Since I already have several Apple devices (AirPods Pro 2, Apple Watch Ultra 2, iPhone, iPad), I’m considering buying the AirPods Max.
Do you think it’s a good choice? What should I look out for to avoid any surprises?
I’m happy to hear any kind of advice.

My maximum budget is 600 eur.

Thank you very much!

This late in the game I think you are insane if you pay full price for AirPods Max. A while back Amazon was selling the lightning version for about half price if I remember correctly. They’ve been out for almost 5 years now and I have to believe Apple is going to come out with a version 2.

This being said if you absolutely need noise canceling headphones and are in the Apple ecosystem, you can’t go wrong with AirPods Max. They have some annoying quirks but I love mine

I just bought mine (USB-C) version from Best Buy a few weeks ago when they had them on sale for $479. I was hesitant at first buying 5 yr old headphones...but when you get to use them you won't regret it.

You can always sell them if Apple does release a new version...

I liked my AirPods Max (and found them very comfortable despite the weight), but the headband really loses its elasticity after a while. You can find lots of instances online. After a couple years of heavy use, the headband mesh was practically useless with how loose it became. You can't replace it, either. That's my biggest complaint and why I won't buy another pair. Though, there are third-party silicone covers that are supposed to help support the elastic.

Interesting. I might have tried this a few months ago, but I already got rid of mine. I'm surprised they have OEM parts though. I thought Apple heavily restricted their manufacturers from selling OEM parts to third parties. Pretty expensive if you replace it every couple years though.

If they sounded good 5 years ago, they’ll sound good still in 2025. Usually you can find them on sale and I think they’re pretty nice, overall. The big bonuses are how they integrate and work with other Apple products. Definitely the nicest headphones I’ve owned

The Apple AirPods Max offer exceptional sound quality and active noise cancellation (ANC). The next best option would be the Mark Levinson No. 5909, which I like. While some individuals also prefer the B&O H100, I was not particularly impressed that it is much better. Additionally, I do not like much the T+A Solitaire T but others.

Therefore, only these three options offer superior sound quality over the AirPods Max. So in my view you will be perfectly happy with it and the addition feature like Adaptive EQ, Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking, and Lossless Audio via USB‑C.
