Is anybody else confused / annoyed by all the different colors across the product lines? For example, you have a rose gold iPad Air, pink 24" iMac, no iPhone equivalent. Or the blue iPhone that seems to match the back blue iMac whose base matches the light blue iPad Air? I wish they would offer the same colors and names throughout - it’s such a mess.

I own the light blue iPad Air with dark blue Folio case and the blue iPhone 12, they match pretty well. It’s not the exact color but it’s fine. Considering not all products are released at the same time and that colors change all the time, I think that’s good enough. Blue iMac and AirPods Max would make a cool combo, although a little too much for my taste.

I have no reason to be confused or annoyed. It doesn't matter to me that the Mac that sits on my desk matches the iPhone I carry in my pocket or the iPad that I carry around in my hand/backpack.

Now my Watch, iMac, and iPad are all silver/aluminum. My iPhone is Space Gray. Altogether, they match or compliment each other closely enough - black and silver are a natural color pair. But yes, if I wanted all "gold" it would be much harder to make a match.

Color is a matter of fashion, and not everyone will like a particular shade. That's probably why there's no standardization of those colors at Apple - one person might buy one shade of blue or gold but not like another. The colors vary from model to model and year to year for marketing reasons. For the most part there's little business benefit to sticking to one particular shade of any one color - varying the colors tends to find more buyers, rather than fewer.

The color fluctuation doesn't bother me, nor the different colors across product lines. What does bother me is that Apple's assumption that just because I'm a "pro" user, I don't want any color that's not Space Gray or Silver. I'm sick of base aluminum silver and whatever shade of dark gray they come up with each year. A purple or blue iMac Pro would be quite nice (for me, anyway).

I think it's a perfect time for Apple to introduce these colors to customers. I purchased many different colored iPods in the past and I enjoyed every single company of each color wouldn't mind experiencing it with Macs and iPads etc..

Seems to be something Apple keeps inside until they feel right about colorful lineups.

Not really... Colors just make it more exciting to pick and choose. If my Early (2017) MBA came in "gold" i would have got that ASAP. but i got Silver..

I guess it could be kinda annoyed that Apple goes so far, even down to what "buying furniture that matches" road, but here we are... but would you buy a pink Mac if you were a guy?

Colors are ok i guess.. This comes from an Amiga days when everyone matched their Amiga 500.. My A570 CD-RoM drive matched perfectly..

I think, more than the lack of consistency across product lines bothering me, it's that the *naming* doesn't always mean the same thing. "Space Gray" is one color on one thing, a different color on another, a third color the next year...
