Looks like Android Google Play Store is looking better everyday with how much apps on the Apple App Store going subscription base. From calendars to alarm clocks, etc

I just hope the same thing doesn't happen on the Android Google Play Store.

I wish Apple would do something about it but they won't. Just more money for them.

Developers do need to make money to survive you know. Most development companies prefer to make good apps for iOS because people are willing to pay them for the time and effort they go through. Revenue from play store is horrible compared to iOS. This is a well known fact in the development community.

Isn’t that how the market works? If you dislike an app because it went subscription, chances are there are easily a dozen other apps just like it. There might be some friction with regards to porting of files and data, but the option is there at least.

Much as people gripe about fantastical, they also forget that said app isn’t available on android. Amongst other apps such as Apollo, overcast, Tweetbot and things. So at least the option is there for you to pay for nice things on iOS.

On android, apps are often free / ad supported, and their quality shows it.

Apple App Store is oppressive. On my iPad I can't download emulators, Kodi, torrent clients, etc. that I can through Google Play Store.

Why are you surprised its different demographics

It's far easier to target users with higher disposable income in Apple store, that's why developers prefer it

The play store is far more diverse because of the product range supported

Add Apple polices and subscriptions are already accepted by owners, developers are free to mimic these with little or no resistance, as its considered the norm

I don't really see much of a difference, but I don't normally go to deep into either app stores. I just get the necessities.
Same here. The most popular apps are identical on both platforms. However if you are into games, tools like photoshop and enterprise apps then IOS has an edge.
